Riverside Arts Center       RivArts@sbcglobal.net

Riverside, IL was designed by the founder of landscape architecture, Frederick Law Olmsted. In 1893, recognizing the need for a community forum for the arts, residents began to share and nurture their collective talents. This informal group (of which I am proud to have been a member of) eventually secured a donated building (gifted from Dr. Robert Freeark and sculptor, Ruth Freeark)  in the heart of Riverside's commercial district.  Today students enjoy art classes such as painting, ceramics, drawing and print making.  Emerging and professional artists have and continue to exhibit their works in the beautiful Freeark Gallery.
